Abstract:
This paper seeks examining the effect of Board of Directors Characteristics on firm’s financial performance in Egypt, using a sample of 50 more active Egyp-tian companies listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange of the non-financial sector covering the period of three financial years from 2012 to 2017. Board of Directors Structure is represented by CEO Duality, Board Size, Board Meet-ings, Independence board members and Gender Diversity. Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE) and Tobin’s Q is used as a proxy for Firm fi-nancial Performance. In this research, correlation and regression analysis are used to examine the relationship between Corporate Governance and firm’s fi-nancial performance.

Abstract:

The aim of the present paper is to investigate intrinsically the notion of a concircular π-vector field in Finsler geometry. This generalizes the concept of a concircular vector field in Riemannian geometry and the concept of concurrent vector field in Finsler geometry. Some properties of concircular π-vector fields are obtained. Different types of recurrence are discussed. The effect of the existence of a concircular π-vector field on some important special Finsler spaces is investigated. Almost all results obtained in this work are formulated in a coordinate-free form.

Abstract: This paper presents a design of a data processing circuit for receiving digital signals from front end-electronic board chips of a specific nuclear detector, encoding and triggering them via specific optical links operating at a specific frequency. Such processed signals are then fed to a data acquisition system (DAQ) for analysis. Very high-speed integrated circuit hardware description language (VHDL) algorithms and codes were created to implement this design using field programmable gate array (FPGA) devices. The obtained data were simulated using international standard simulators.
Assessment of Gross Chemical Composition, Mineral Composition, Vitamin Composition and Amino Acids Composition of Wheat Biscuits and Wheat Germ Fortified Biscuits  [PDF]

Abstract: Wheat germ is reckoned valuable healthful functional food. The present investigation was performed to assess nutritional status of wheat biscuits and wheat germ fortified biscuits. Study included determination of gross chemical composition, caloric value, minerals (Mn, Ca, Fe, Cu, P, Na and K), vitamins (C, Folic acid, A, and E), and amino acid composition of wheat biscuits and 15%, 20% wheat germ fortified biscuits. Likewise physical and sensory characteristics of studied biscuits were assessed. The data revealed that 20% wheat germ fortified biscuits proved to be nutritious functional healthful food. It improved both physical, sensory characteristics and recorded the highest crude protein (12.20%), crude fiber (2%), and the least fat (9.63%), moisture (3.01%), and caloric value (436.31 Kcal/100g). While it recorded the highest Mn and Cu contents as well as increased vitamins C, Folic acid, A, and E. Besides, 20% wheat germ fortified biscuits increased all the eight essential amino acids contents resulting in an improvement of the nutritive value of wheat biscuits. Therefore it could be recommended for caloric reduced diets for obese and overweight persons. Likewise, it should be increasing interest as an ingredient in the industry as functional and healthy foods formulations as biscuits, bread and cakes.
Linear Connections and Curvature Tensors in the Geometry of Parallelizable Manifolds

Abstract: In this paper we discuss curvature tensors in the context of Absolute Parallelism geometry. Different curvature tensors are expressed in a compact form in terms of the torsion tensor of the canonical connection. Using the Bianchi identities some other identities are derived from the expressions obtained. These identities, in turn, are used to reveal some of the properties satisfied by an intriguing fourth order tensor which we refer to as Wanas tensor. A further condition on the canonical connection is imposed, assuming it is semi-symmetric. The formulae thus obtained, together with other formulae (Ricci tensors and scalar curvatures of the different connections admitted by the space) are calculated under this additional assumption. Considering a specific form of the semi-symmetric connection causes all nonvanishing curvature tensors to coincide, up to a constant, with the Wanas tensor. Physical aspects of some of the geometric objects considered are mentioned.

Abstract: Cloud computing environment provides a great flexibility and availability of computing resources at a lower cost. This emerging technology opens a new era of e-services in different disciplines. In this paper, we explore cloud computing services and applications, we give examples for cloud services provided by the most common Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, HP, and Sales force and we present innovative applications for cloud computing in e-learning, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and e-governance. Our study helps individuals and organizations understand how cloud computing can provide them with customized, reliable and cost-effective services in a wide variety of applications.

Therefore the aim of this study was to further investigate the biophysical role of the cytoskeletal element; the F-actin, intracellular reorganization and its polymerization in mast cell priming of chemotaxis function. In the present communication it is shown by immunofluoresence confocal microscopy analysis that physical F-actin intracellular reorganization in a membrane bound manner on uman mast cell is involved in VIP-induced priming of human mast cell chemotaxis against FKN. The F-actin reorganization was calcium independent and without modifi cation of its contents as assessed by fluorescence-activated cell scanning analysis. These results identify a novel role for the biophysical association of F-actin in the crosstalk between neuro-inflammatory mediators and mast cells and may be an important target for therapeutic modalities in allergic inflammation.

On Finslerized Absolute Parallelism spaces

Abstract: The aim of the present paper is to construct and investigate a Finsler structure within the framework of a Generalized Absolute Parallelism space (GAP-space). The Finsler structure is obtained from the vector fields forming the parallelization of the GAP-space. The resulting space, which we refer to as a Finslerized Parallelizable space, combines within its geometric structure the simplicity of GAP-geometry and the richness of Finsler geometry, hence is potentially more suitable for applications and especially for describing physical phenomena. A study of the geometry of the two structures and their interrelation is carried out. Five connections are introduced and their torsion and curvature tensors derived. Some special Finslerized Parallelizable spaces are singled out. One of the main reasons to introduce this new space is that both Absolute Parallelism and Finsler geometries have proved effective in the formulation of physical theories, so it is worthy to try to build a more general geometric structure that would share the benefits of both geometries.
A Framework for Secure Cloud Computing

Abstract: Cloud computing is one of the most discussed topics today in the field of information technology. It introduces a new Internet-based environment for on-demand, dynamic provision of reconfigurable computing resources. The biggest challenge in cloud computing is the security and privacy problems caused by its multi-tenancy nature and the outsourcing of infrastructure, sensitive data and critical applications. In this paper, we propose a framework that identifies security and privacy challenges in cloud computing. It highlights cloud-specific attacks and risks and clearly illustrates their mitigations and countermeasures. We also propose a generic cloud computing security model that helps satisfy security and privacy requirements in the clouds and protect them against various vulnerabilities. The purpose of this work is to advise on security and privacy considerations that should be taken and solutions that might be considered when using the cloud environment by individuals and organizations.
