Abstract:
In several areas of engineering, it is possible to put real problems in mathematical functions; when we represent a problem with variables in the form of function, we were able to extract various information from it. This paper compared two different mathematical methods, being the finite difference method and the Fourth Order Range-Kutta method, to analyze the concentration and temperature of the water flow inside a tubular reactor. These results were compared with the analytical and experimental results of the problem, demonstrating that the Fourth Order Range-Kutta method was more advantageous than the finite difference method.
Vector bundles trivialized by proper morphisms and the fundamental group scheme
Indranil Biswas,Joao Pedro P. dos Santos
Mathematics , 2009,
Abstract: Let X be a smooth projective variety defined over an algebraically closed field k. Nori constructed a category of vector bundles on X, called essentially finite vector bundles, which is reminiscent of the category of representations of the fundamental group (in characteristic zero). In fact, this category is equivalent to the category of representations of a pro--finite group scheme which controls all finite torsors. We show that essentially finite vector bundles coincide with those which become trivial after being pulled back by some proper and surjective morphism to X.
Vector bundles trivialized by proper morphisms and the fundamental group scheme, II

Mathematics , 2010,
Abstract: Let $X$ be a projective and smooth variety over an algebraically closed field $k$. Let $f:Y\rightarrow X$ be a proper and surjective morphism of $k$-varieties. Assuming that $f$ is separable, we prove that the Tannakian category associated to the vector bundles $E$ on $X$ such that $f^*E$ is trivial is equivalent to the category of representations of a finite and etale group scheme. We give a counterexample to this conclusion in the absence of separability.
Evolution of squeezed states under the Fock-Darwin Hamiltonian

Physics , 2009, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevA.80.053401
Abstract: We develop a complete analytical description of the time evolution of squeezed states of a charged particle under the Fock-Darwin Hamiltonian and a time-dependent electric field. This result generalises a relation obtained by Infeld and Pleba\'nski for states of the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator. We relate the evolution of a state-vector subjected to squeezing to that of state which is not subjected to squeezing and for which the time-evolution under the simple harmonic oscillator dynamics is known (e.g. an eigenstate of the Hamiltonian). A corresponding relation is also established for the Wigner functions of the states, in view of their utility in the analysis of cold-ion experiments. In an appendix, we compute the response functions of the FD Hamiltonian to an external electric field, using the same techniques as in the main text.

Maderas. Ciencia y tecnología , 2005, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-221X2005000100002
Abstract: although the increasing economic importance of eucalyptus lumber to furniture and other value added products manufacturing, its industrial use is still small. one of the main reasons is the difficulty to dry the lumber and related loses of raw material. there is a general recommendation in literature to use a low drying rate in initial stages of the process, and changing to a more aggressive drying after removal of liquid water from the lumber. according classical theory about drying of porous material, this point should coincide with the predominance of diffusion phenomena in the moisture movement; which could be determined through the characteristic drying curve of the material. with the objective to get better knowledge about the drying of eucalyptus grandis lumber, its characteristic drying curve was determined, and the results proved that eucalyptus grandis lumber is not permeable to liquid flow. based on its characteristic drying curve, it is possible to suggest the change of drying conditions when lumber moisture content, dry basis, is between 35% and 40%, then starting a more aggressive drying

Abstract: the present work is a preliminary contribution to the knowledge of the fauna, with regard to the aspect of mullusks, on the coast located in the city of piúma (40o45' lat. l and 20o50' long. w) espírito santo state, aiming a better comprehension of the distribution and ecology of mollusks in the south atlantic. collections were made in planned sporadic periods (may/29 to 31 of 1984; may/04-05 and september/13-16 of 1985; march/26-28; october/30-31 and november/01-02 of 1986), in the intertidal zones in the area, in each chosen region and in presence of an 0.0 tide. the material identified by comparative analysis of the morphologic variability presented a total of 41 generic taxa (52.56%) and 44 specific taxa (52.38%) of the class gastropoda, 36 generic taxa (46.15%) and 39 specific taxa (46.43%) of the class bivalvia and 1 generic taxa (1,28%) and 1 specific taxa (1.19%) of the class scaphopoda.

CONSULTORIA EM ONGS: UM ESTUDO NA REGI O METROPOLITANA DE RECIFE

Revista PRETEXTO , 2011,
A scheme to protect against multiple quantum erasures
Gilson O. dos Santos,Francisco M. de Assis
Mathematics , 2011,
Abstract: We present a scheme able to protect k >= 3 qubits of information against the occurrence of multiple erasures, based on the code proposed by Yang et al. (2004 JETP Letters 79 236). In this scheme redundant blocks are used and we restrict to the case that each erasure must occur in distinct blocks. We explicitly characterize the encoding operation and the restoring operation required to implement this scheme. The operators used in these operations can be adjusted to construct different quantum erasure-correcting codes. A special feature of this scheme is that no measurement is required. To illustrate our scheme, we present an example in which five-qubits of information are protected against the occurrence of two erasures.

Abstract: this work had as its objective in the evaluation of the growth and production of the sugarcare plant under different phosphorus sources. the experiment was carried out in coruripe, al, brazil with 10 fertilizer treatments: 1) control; 2) nk + micronutrient; 3) super phosphate simple; 4) triple super phosphate; 5) fosmag; 6) gafsa; 7) map; 8) npk 06-26-24 (460 kg ha-1); 9) compost and 10) simple super phosphate - splitdose. the experiment was in random blocks, with four replicates. parameters evaluated were: number of tillers, height of plants, iaf, rate of stalk growth, rate of biomass production of the stalk, relative growth rate, production and p in leaf and available in soil. p sources did not show any significant influence upon the growth of cane-plant due to the residual effect of previous manuring, with average yield of 80 t ha-1. the triple super phosphate produced the best production in the cane-plant, which presented three growth phases: 1st phase: intense tillering until 120 days after planting (dap); 2nd phase:intense growth between 120 and 240 dap; and 3rd phase: maturation, between 240 and 360 dap. the major growth rate and fresh matter stalk production occurred after intense tillering phase between 120 and 240 dap.
