Annual Production Plan of Mine Based on Linear Programming  [PDF]

In order to solve the difficulty of the arrangement of ore production at each mine site during the transition from open pit to underground mining in Shirengou iron mine. Taking the largest amount of mining as the objective function, each deposit storage capacity, ore dilution rate, ore loss rate and grade as the constraints, thus the linear programming model was established and solved by lingo considering the balance between reserve and production ratio. The optimal number of each mining area mining was obtained, providing a theoretical basis for raising the overall economic benefits of mining transition period.

Abstract: In order to obtain the main and secondary factors affecting the properties of the screw steel and its correlation, this text constructed a TOPSIS (Technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution) evaluation system based on entropy weight. First of all, three properties indexes of deformed steel bar are selected: the yield strength, tensile strength and elongation at break after breaking. Secondly, we defined a comprehensive index C which is for measuring the property of thread steel by using TOPSIS method, and then the correlation degree of various chemical elements and comprehensive index C were analyzed. According to the principle that the bigger of coefficient correlation, the greater impact, to draw a conclusion: the main elements that affect the properties of deformed steel bar are C, Ceq, Si and Cr, the secondary factors are Mn, Mo, ALT, Ni, Cu, Cr, S, P and V. Finally, the correlation between various elements was studied by means of correlation analysis, where there was a significant positive correlation between Cu and Cr.
A Focused In Situ Hybridization Screen Identifies Candidate Transcriptional Regulators of Thymic Epithelial Cell Development and Function

Abstract: Background Thymic epithelial cells (TECs) are necessary for normal T cell development. Currently, one transcription factor, Foxn1 is known to be necessary for the progression of fetal TEC differentiation. However, some aspects of fetal TEC differentiation occur in Foxn1 mutants, suggesting the existence of additional transcriptional regulators of TEC differentiation. The goal of this study was to identify some of the additional candidate transcription factors that may be involved in the specification and/or differentiation of TECs during fetal development. Methodology/Principal Findings We identified candidate fetal TEC transcriptional regulators via data and text mining. From our data mining we selected the transcription factors Foxg1, Isl1, Gata3, Nkx2-5, Nkx2-6 and Sox2 for further studies. Whole mount in situ hybridizations confirmed the expression of these transcription factors within subdomains of the third pharyngeal pouch from E9.5–E10.5. By E11.5 days Foxg1 and Isl1 transcripts were the only mRNAs from this group of genes detected exclusively within the thymus domain of the third pouch. Based on this initial in situ hybridization analysis, we focused on defining the expression of Foxg1 and Isl1 during multiple stages of thymus development and TEC differentiation. We found that Foxg1 and Isl1 are specifically expressed in differentiating TECs during fetal and postnatal stages of thymus development. In addition, we found differential expression of Islet1 and Foxn1 within the fetal and postnatal TEC population. Conclusions/Significance Our studies have identified two developmental transcription factors that are excellent candidate regulators of thymic epithelial cell specification and differentiation during fetal development. Our results suggest that Foxg1 and Isl1 may play a role in the regulation of TEC differentiation during fetal and postnatal stages. Our results also demonstrate heterogeneity of TECs marked by the differential expression of transcription factors, potentially providing new insights into the regulation of TEC differentiation.

Abstract: This study examines competencies of Human Resource (HR) professionals in the manufacturing companies of Malaysia. The Human Resource Competency Survey (HRCS) model is used in this study. The competencies that are examined in this study are business knowledge, strategic contribution, HR delivery, personal credibility and HR technology. All these competencies will be tested whether or not they are significantly related to a firm’s performance. Furthermore, researcher wanted to study the relationship of these competencies with variables such as experience, education level, firm’s size and salary of the sample. The sample employed here consists of HR professionals from Malaysian manufac-turing companies in Johor, the southernmost state of Malaysia.

Abstract: Stomatal aperture responses of Commelina communis L. between well watered plants and water stressed plants were investigated. To see the very rapid response to water stress, the plants were directly rooted out from the soil and exposed to the air immediately. Stomata, rooted out from the soil, were totally closed within 10 minutes without any detention time while the stomata of the plants in the soil had been kept opening. These results suggest that stomatal response to the abrupt water stress is very rapid indicating that guard cell itself or leaves could sense water status in the plants.

New Adaptive Compensator Robust to Memoryless Nonlinear Distortion  [PDF]

In this paper, the new hybrid adaptive Volterra filter was proposed to be applied for compensating the nonlinear distortion of memoryless nonlinear systems with saturation characteristics. Through computer simulations as well as the analytical analysis, it could be shown that it is possible for both conventional Volterra filter and proposed Volterra filter, to be applied for linearizing the memoryless nonlinear system with nonlinear distortion. Also, the simulation results demonstrated that the proposed Volterra filter may have faster convergence speed and better capability of compensating the nonlinear distortion than the conventional Volterra filter.

Maternal Exposure to Bisphenol-A and Fetal Growth Restriction: A Case-Referent Study

Abstract: We conducted a case-referent study of the effect of exposure to bisphenol-A on fetal growth in utero in full-term, live-born singletons in Alberta, Canada. Newborns <10 percentile of expected weight for gestational age and sex were individually matched on sex, maternal smoking and maternal age to referents with weight appropriate to gestational age. Exposure of the fetus to bisphenol-A was estimated from maternal serum collected at 15–16 weeks of gestation. We pooled sera across subjects for exposure assessment, stratified on case-referent status and sex. Individual 1:1 matching was maintained in assembling 69 case and 69 referent pools created from 550 case-referent pairs. Matched pools had an equal number of aliquots from individual women. We used an analytical strategy conditioning on matched set and total pool-level values of covariates to estimate individual-level effects. Pools of cases and referents had identical geometric mean bisphenol-A concentrations (0.5 ng/mL) and similar geometric standard deviations (2.3–2.5). Mean difference in concentration between matched pools was 0 ng/mL, standard deviation: 1 ng/mL. Stratification by sex and control for confounding did not suggest bisphenol-A increased fetal growth restriction. Our analysis does not provide evidence to support the hypothesis that bisphenol-A contributes to fetal growth restriction in full-term singletons.
