The authors report three cases of post-traumatic hemobilia. Hemobilia complicates about 0.5% to 2% of liver injuries. The diagnosis can be difficult because of its possible delay of appearance. The ultrasound and CT scan performed urgently are of great help in both positive diagnosis and monitoring of this pathology. Once the diagnosis is made—immediatly or a while after the trauma—a diagnostic and therapeutic arteriography must be carried out quickly.

Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2013.32040

The aim of the present paper is to investigate intrinsically the notion of a concircular π-vector field in Finsler geometry. This generalizes the concept of a concircular vector field in Riemannian geometry and the concept of concurrent vector field in Finsler geometry. Some properties of concircular π-vector fields are obtained. Different types of recurrence are discussed. The effect of the existence of a concircular π-vector field on some important special Finsler spaces is investigated. Almost all results obtained in this work are formulated in a coordinate-free form.

Abstract: Wheat germ is reckoned valuable healthful functional food. The present investigation was performed to assess nutritional status of wheat biscuits and wheat germ fortified biscuits. Study included determination of gross chemical composition, caloric value, minerals (Mn, Ca, Fe, Cu, P, Na and K), vitamins (C, Folic acid, A, and E), and amino acid composition of wheat biscuits and 15%, 20% wheat germ fortified biscuits. Likewise physical and sensory characteristics of studied biscuits were assessed. The data revealed that 20% wheat germ fortified biscuits proved to be nutritious functional healthful food. It improved both physical, sensory characteristics and recorded the highest crude protein (12.20%), crude fiber (2%), and the least fat (9.63%), moisture (3.01%), and caloric value (436.31 Kcal/100g). While it recorded the highest Mn and Cu contents as well as increased vitamins C, Folic acid, A, and E. Besides, 20% wheat germ fortified biscuits increased all the eight essential amino acids contents resulting in an improvement of the nutritive value of wheat biscuits. Therefore it could be recommended for caloric reduced diets for obese and overweight persons. Likewise, it should be increasing interest as an ingredient in the industry as functional and healthy foods formulations as biscuits, bread and cakes.
A New 2-way Multi-level Partitioning Algorithm

VLSI Design , 2000, DOI: 10.1155/2000/65821
Abstract: Partitioning is a fundamental problem in the design of VLSI circuits. In recent years, the multi-level partitioning approach has been used with success by a number of researchers. This paper describes a new multi-level partitioning algorithm (PART) that combines a blend of iterative improvement and clustering, biasing of node gains, and local uphill climbs. PART is competitive with recent state-of-the-art partitioning algorithms. PART was able to find new lower cuts for many benchmark circuits. Under suitably mild assumptions, PART also runs in linear time.

Abstract: Partitioning is a fundamental problem in the design of VLSI circuits. In recent years, ratio-cut partitioning has received attention due to its tendency to partition circuits into their natural clusters. Node contraction has also been shown to enhance the performance of iterative partitioning algorithms. This paper describes a new simple ratio-cut partitioning algorithm using node contraction. This new algorithm combines iterative improvement with progressive cluster formation. Under suitably mild assumptions, the new algorithm runs in linear time. It is also shown that the new algorithm compares favorably with previous approaches.

Abstract: in section 1, we show that if x is a stein normal complex space of dimension n and d ìì x an open subset which is the union of an increasing sequence d1 ì d2 ì ... ì dn ì ì ... of domains of holomorphy in x, then d is a domain of holomorphy. in section 2, we prove that a domain of holomorphy d which is relatively compact in a 2-dimensional normal stein space x itself is stein. in section 3, we show that if x is a stein space of dimension n and d ì x an open subspace which is the union of an increasing sequence d1 ì d2 ì ... ì dn ì ... of open stein subsets of x, then d itself is stein, if x has isolated singularities
Short-term Use of Cinacalcet in Children on Regular Hemodialysis

Abstract: Introduction: Therapy with vitamin D3 analogs suppress the parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients suffering from secondary hyperparathyroidism (sHPT). The concurrent administration of calcium-containing phosphate binders further increases the likelihood of developing hypercalcemia. Calcimimetics, such as cinacalcet, lower PTH level while limiting the risks of hyperphosphatemia and/or hypercalcemia. In adults, clinical experience with calcimimetics has shown significant reductions in PTH levels in cases with sHPT, but the clinical experience in children with CKD is limited. Case series: We report here the effect of short term use of cinacalcet on sHPT in two children on regular hemodialysis for CKD stage 5. Both children had very high PTH level which failed to be controlled with vitamin D3 and phosphate binders. We started cinacalcet therapy at a dose of 30 mg/day for both of them for duration of eight weeks. The first case was an 11 year-old male, his iPTH level decreased by 26% at four weeks after initiation of therapy and decreased by 39% at eight weeks. The second case was a 13 year-old female, her iPTH level decreased by 25% at four weeks after therapy and by 40% at eight weeks. There were no drug related side effects in both cases. Serum calcium and phosphorus levels remained stable in both patients. Conclusion: Cinacalcet can be effectively used in the treatment of sHPT in children in the short term, with minimal changes in the serum levels of calcium and phosphorus.

Abstract: 1. The oesophageal plexus is in the structure and arrangement"nof its larger branches constant."n·2 . Two trunks arise from the oesophageal plexus, the . anterior vagal trunk and the posterior vagal trunk;"neach trunk contains fibers of both left and right vagi nerves."n3. These vagal trunks in the majority of instances pass through the oesophageal opening of the diaphragm each in the form of the or two sterns."n4. Anterior and posterior gastric plexuses mayor may not be present: the one may be pr e s ent , the other"nabsent. If present. their formation is limited to the branches destined for the supply of the stomach."n5. The manner of distribution of the vagal branches is"nin the main constant."n6. The main gastric branches lie in the neighborhood of the lesser curature."n7. The anterior vagal trunk supplies the anterior surface of the stomach as far as the pyloric antrum; it does not supply the pyloric canal and sphincter through those branches which lie along the lesser curvature. This statement holds good for the posterior vagal trunk and the posterior aspect of the stomach."n8. The pyeloric canal, sphincter, and first stage of the duodenum receive their nerve supply from above, receiving twigs from the vagal branches to the liver."n9. Sympathetic fibers derived from the coeliac plexus reach all regions of the stomach. Twigs may be seen to unite with and run with vagal twigs.

Palavras-chave: sharī'a; islamismo; direito mu ulmano. Abstract One of the main claims of contemporary Islamic political movements is to implement the sharia. But the view of the sharia held by those movements diverges from the Muslim judicial systems as they actually functioned throughout history. The very definition of sharia, its relation with the political power, and its implementation in specific cases, were simplified during the process of codification that took place between the 19th and 20th centuries, and contemporary Islamic movements inherited this "westernized" conception of sharia. Though often translated as "Islamic law", the term does not correspond exactly to the Western concept of "law", and neither does it comprise the whole field of law among Muslim peoples. Parallel to the sharia, there is also the qānūn (the law of the ruler), and the rules derived from costume ('urf, adalat). This article intends to analyze the formation of the duality between sharia and qānūn in Islamic law until the codification of the sharia in the 20th century, and the dissolution of this duality in contemporary Islamist ideologies. Keywords: sharia; Islamism; Islamic law.
