CHARACTERISTICS OF PRECIPITATION IN SOUTH CHINA IN JUNE AND ATMOSPHERIC CIRCULATION ANALYSES

Abstract: The precipitation of June over South China has significant periods of 2-year,4-year,9-year and 30-year.The circulation anomalies greatly influence the precipitation in June in South China.The precipitation of June over South China has a remarkable positive correlation with the low-level southwesterly flow over coastal areas of South China,indicating that the stronger southwesterly flow over coastal areas of South China is favorable for the flow cyclonic convergence over South China.The intensity and longitudinal position of the subtropical high in the Western Pacific(SHWP) decide the southwesterly flow in its north side.When the SHWP is stronger and extends westward,the southwesterly flow over coastal areas of South China becomes stronger. So the rainfall of June in South China increases.If the cross equator flow around 120°E is stronger,the SHWP is weaker.So the stronger cross equator flow around 120°E is unfavorable for the rainfall of June in South China.The Somali cross equator flow can influence the precipitation of June over the South China through the southwesterly flow.When the Somali cross equator flow is stronger,the rainfall increases.In addition,the precipitation of June over South China is significantly related to the trough in the northwest side of the SHWP. The warm and wet air by southwesterly flow converges with the cold air by the trough over South China continuously,which is favorable for the occurrence of continuous rain.There is a wave train along the jet stream over high level.When the precipitation of June over South China increases,an anticyclonic anomalous circulation locates over the northwest side of the Tibetan Plateau and a cyclonic anomalous circulation situates from the East Tibetan Plateau to East China,high-level divergence over South China increases.
HIGH ORDER SYMPLECTIC SCHEME FOR ONE-WAY WAVE EQUATION OPERATOR

Abstract: In this article, a higher order symplectic scheme approximation to the complex exponential function in the one-way wave equation is used in the seismic migration algorithm. The symplectic method is compared with the two-step method developed by Clearbout and several non-symplectic methods. The result shows that the symplectic scheme has an higher accuracy. The impulse response on even velocity model and simple lateral variable velocity model shows that the symplectic method can decrease the frequency dispersion and adapt to the lateral velocity variation. Results on Marmousi model and field data show that the method can also be used in seismic migration, especially for the deeper section.

Abstract: In this paper, we study the vector quasi-equilibrium problems. An existence theorem is obtained. We prove that, in the space Y consisting of vector quasi-equilibrium problems (satisfying some continuity and convexity conditions), most problems (in the sense of Baire category) have stable solution sets, and in a subset of Y, every problem possesses at least one essential component of its solution set. As applications, we derive an existence theorem of weak Pareto-Nash equilibrium points for multiobjective generalized games. Moverover, we show that, in the space P consisting of multiobjective generalized games (satisfying some continuity and convexity conditions), most games (in the sense of Baire category) have stable weak Pareto-Nash equilibrium point sets and every game in P has at least one essential component of its weak Pareto-Nash equilibrium point set.

Abstract: In this paper, we study the stability of the solution sets for generalized vector variational-like inequality problems. We prove that, in the space M consisting of generalized vector variational-like inequality problems satisfying some convexity and continuity conditions, most generalized vector variational-like inequality problems (in the sense of Baire category) have stable solution sets, and that for each problem in M, its solution set possesses at least one essential component.

Abstract: Reviewing the research of crisis intervention of critical incident. Two aspects should be paid much attention to: 1. the importance of assessment in the crisis intervention. Assessment is the precondition of intervention, running through the whole process of the intervention. 2. Many intervention models have three characters: (1) Technology for stage partition which divide the intervention process as different stages and take different tactics. (2) Integration trend. It integrates different intervention models and resource of support to improve the effect of intervention to the best level. (3) Taking different tactics for the different people and different stress situations. SARS prevalence is a serious test for the crisis intervention system in our country. As the crisis intervention system in our country is not perfect, the intervention models, experience and lesson deserve to use for reference.
THE COASTAL SANDY SOIL RESOURCES IN GUANGDONG

Abstract: Coastal sandy soil is an important land resource that has to be improved urgently in Guangdong Province. It is widespread, large in area and has a direct effect on the raise of the living standard of the local inhabitants, the economic development and the improvement of ecological environments. Coastal sandy soil is mainly distributed in Hainan Island, the western and the eastern Guangdong. The formation of it is closely related with coastal landform, river hydrology and climate. A large number of mud and sand carried by rivers and surface runoff, under the different actions of tide, wave and wind, makes outer bar and sand beach form and develops gradually. According to its differences of soil-formation age and soil characteristics, coastal sandy soil can be divided into four subgroups: mobile, half-fixing, fixing and cultivated coastal sandy soils. Their common characteristics are (1) that they are sandy so that water and fertilizer can lose easily and (2) that nutrition is lacking and soil are poor. The improvement and utility of coastal sandy soil should be (1) building shelterbelts; (2) developing multiindustry; (3) improving and using uncultivated sand land; (4) spreading organic fertilizer in order to improve sandy soil; (5) building water conservancy projects and (6) developing tourist resources.

Abstract: Lateritic red earth is a zonal soil in the south subtropical zone and distributes widely on low hilly land and platforms where the altitude is lower than 300-450 meters. Its area is large,occupying 45% of total soil area of Guangdong province. Under the bioclimatic conditions of the south subtropical zone where high temperature is accompanied by heavy rainfall,the characteristics of soil formation include strong desilication,ferric-allitic weathering, flourishing biological cycle, seashore re-salinization, etc. The following are the main characteristics of the soil: It has a complete genetic profile,the kaolinite content is the main part of clay minerals, the acidity is strong, the nutrient content is relatively low, and the soil texture is generally sandy.Lateritic red earth is a main base for developing a diversified agriculture on hills and platforms of the south subtropical zone in Guangdong province, Its productive potential is very great. In order to fully develop its productive superiority and raise the soil fertility, the following aspects must be emphasized. They are suitable exploitation and utilization of land according to local conditions, suitable, rotation and interplanting of crops, suitable dressing,preventing soil and water loss, developing irrigation, and so on.
ON DISTRIBUTION OF APPARENT SEISMIC STRESS IN CHINESE MAINLAND

Abstract: The average seismic apparent stress and its distribution in Chinese mainland are presented by use of data of medium-strong earthquake from 1900 to 2005.The stress is 0.67 MPa, more than the global level a little and 0.32 MPa in eastern China,0.97 MPa in western China. It is turns out that the average seismic apparent stress calculated with seismic magnitude in Chinese mainland is similar to that calculated with digital seismic wave data and the distribution is coincident with each other.

Abstract: The downward deflection of the Qinghai-Tibet lithosphere due to the topographical load is calculated with finite element method by use of the 3D multilayered shell structural unit.Then,the influence of the lower-velocity layer of thermokarst on the intensity of the Qinghai-Tibet lithosphere in different regions is studied with multilayered mechanical model,based on the seismic-wave velocity structural model and the constrained Moho model.The results show that the lower-velocity layer of thermokarst has a stronger influence on the lithosphere in the eastern region of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau than that in the western region.

Abstract: Using the summer monthly mean wind field and the rainfall data in China from 1980 to 1997, the spatial and temporal variation characteristics of main anomalous modes of wind field have been studied by the method of vector EOF expansion. It has been found that there exists close relationship between the main modes and summer rainfall in China, especially EOF1 and EOF2. The time coefficients of main modes display feature of multiple time scale, among them the 3- 6 year fluctuations are obvious.
