Abstract: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the repeatability of RTK GPS method under varying satellite configurations by using different reference points. Furthermore, we conducted one way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), which is a powerful tool for comparing the variability of related types of measurements. Multi-reference station is a well–known approach in RTK GPS. Using multi-reference points isan effective way to achieve consistent accuracy in the whole net by making errors less distance dependent on the reference stations. It is possible to achieve high reliability and availability by using multi-reference stations. If one station goes down or starts to provide suspicious values, it is possible to compensate the situation with other stations, while this is not possible when a single reference station fails. Here we present ANOVA which is an effective method to check the quality of corrections generated from each reference station ; Namen raziskave je oceniti ponovljivost RTK-metodeGPS-opazovanj v odvisnosti od razli ne geometrije razporeditve satelitov in z uporabo razli nih referen nih postaj. Uporabili smo metodo enosmerne analize variance (ANOVA), ki omogo a u inkovito primerjavo spremenljivosti podobnih meritev.

Abstract: The students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nis have specific demands for English. They have a desire to publish medical articles in respected journals, they want to participate in international conferences and practice abroad. Having this in mind, we have concluded that an analysis of the structure and style of medical research papers and teaching scientific medical writing to students are very useful.Intercommunication, which means reading and publishing articles, getting involved in research, participating in conferences, following new improvements, is the imperative device for the self-development of a doctor.

Abstract: The paper presents the arguments that speak in favor of using a typical medical interview in the process of teaching English for Medical Purposes. First of all, such a method is closely in line with the much acclaimed method of content- based learning that bears special relevance for teaching and learning English for Specific Purposes in general. Furthermore, it allows for active involvement of students in a number of ways, they find themselves in the area of expertise they are familiar with, and, simultaneously, are in a position to practice both their medical knowledge and their English skills. It is highly student-centered and student-oriented method, as it gives them full initiative to direct the teaching/learning process. What is more, they gain insight into social and communicative skills that are of utmost importance for their practice, but which they hardly ever study or practice in other subjects during their studies.

Abstract: The aim of the paper was to establish the basic descriptive epidemiological characteristics of the individuals having died of cerebrovascular diseases, at the territory of Doljevac Municipality. The data about the deceased were obtained after the population registration, as well as by the physician on duty. The research included all of them who died of cerebrovascular diseases at the territory of Doljevac Municipality, in the period from 2002 to 2006. The descriptive epidemiological study was applied. Specific and general rates of mortality were being calculated, and the population data were obtained from the 2002 census. The rates were calculated per 100,000 residents. The total registered number was: 306 deceased, 180 females (59%) and 126 males (41%). Average annual specific rate of mortality based on cerebrovascular diseases was 311.2 per 100,000 residents (251.3 in men and 368.1 in women). Average annual rate of mortality in the population over 30 years of age in the same period was higher and reached 484,0 (389.7 in men and 577.2 in women). Women died 1.5 times more than men. The mortality rate was 1.3 times higher in the upland area of the municipality (349.3) than in the plain area (276.4). Cerebrovascular diseases-based death was reported in both sexes after 30 years of age. The youngest man was 32, and the youngest woman was 48. After 59 years of age, the death-rate abruptly increased and reached the maximum after 70 years of age. The highest number of the deceased women was reported in the age group 70-79 years , while the highest number of the deceased men was noted in the age group 80-89 years . The lowest mortality rates in both sexes were registered in the 30-39 years age group (m/w rate – 44.9:16.3), and the highest in 80-89 years age group (m/w rate – 2138.7:1921.5). Almost 1/3 of the deceased was under 65 years of age. The mean age was 70.3 years in men and 76.1 years in women. In younger population, under 65 years of age, the relation m/w 1:1.02 was insignificant. In the older population, the difference between the sexes was higher (m/w 1:1.5). The highest average annual mortality rate, related to education, was 479.3 in individuals with 8 years of education, 369.2 in those with 12 years of education, and 206.9 in those with 8-12 years of education. Marital status of the deceased in the younger population (under 65 years of age) was: 73% married, 13% divorced, 14% never married. In the older population (over 65 years of age), 42% married and 58 widowers. Average annual mortality rate according to marital status was the highest in the
The Ethnic Cleansing in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Period of 1992/95: Mind set of Cleansers

Abstract: The 1992-1995 civil war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, multi-ethnic and multi-confessional former Yugoslav state, saw some of the most distorted atrocities, as well as human and moral failure, of the twentieth century. This paper concentrates on one particular case of genocidal ethnic cleansing in the Bosnian conflict: that conducted by the Serbian military, police and paramilitary forces against the Bosniac Muslim and (to a lesser extent) Bosnian Croat civilian population. The paper examines various war crimes from specific viewpoint: it attempts to explain why the cleansers cleansed, what the definition of their motivation might be; the mind set and propaganda of the Serbian regime and warmongering section of the Cultural and NGO sector is, therefore, thoroughly investigated. We identified two major components of numerous official rationalizations of the genocide: call for a preventive self-defense of the Serbian nation and state, and dehumanization of the victimized community by invoking scornful attitudes towards Bosnaic Muslims on the part of Serbian fighters.

A two-stage heat transfer model for the peripheral layers of a grain store

Abstract: An understanding of the flow of heat in grain store structures, in particular, within the peripheral layer, is important from many industrial perspectives. To analyse the heat transfer within such regions a mathematical model known as the two-stage heat transfer model is proposed. This model makes a distinction between the air and grain within the grain bulk, and thus takes into consideration the fact that the rate of heat transfer through the grain is different to that through the interstitial air surrounding the grain. Such a model lends itself to a solution via Laplace transforms and approximate analytical results are obtained for small and large times. In addition, the Stehfest numerical algorithm is used for the inversions and very good agreement is obtained between the two approaches. The present model is compared to a previously developed double-diffusivity heat transfer model by the authors, and good agreement is obtained. At present, no experimental data is available to validate the model as it is very difficult to measure the air and grain temperatures separately, particularly in the peripheral layer. The proposed model provides insight into the potential difference existing between the air and grain temperatures.
Synthesis, structure and properties of thermoplastic poly(ester–siloxane) elastomers
Journal of the Serbian Chemical Society , 2006,
Abstract: Two series of thermoplastic poly(ester–siloxane) elastomers (TPES), with hard segments based on poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) and soft segments based on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), were synthesized by high-temperature, two-step transesterification reaction in the melt. In series I, themass ratio of hard and soft segments was kept constant (57:43), while the length of the segments was varied, whereas in series II, the mass ratio of hard and soft segments was varied in range from 70:30 to 40:60, with a constant length of the soft segments. The segmented structure of the poly(ester–siloxane) copolymers was verified by 1H-NMR spectroscopy of the soluble and insoluble fractions, obtained after extraction of the samples with chloroform. The influence of the structure and composition of the TPES on the melting temperatures and degrees of crystallinity was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The rheological properties were investigated by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).

Abstract: The paper presents a case of the patient suffering from osteomvelitis patellae that emerged after the fracture of the femur. This infection was cured in the conservative way primarily with three antibiotics with respect to the antibiogram findings. The radiological and scintigraphic findings show that the process turned into the chronic one so that the endoprosthetic implantation was put off. The osteomyelitis patellae is rarely described in the literature; that is why it is presented here
