Myodopsylla w. wolffsohni (Rothschild) is recorded for the first time for Uruguay, in the Artigas and Rocha departments. In Argentina, it was recorded for Entre Ríos and Tucumán, and it is recorded for the first time for the provinces of Corrientes and Salta. Also, the association with Myotis riparius Handley is mentioned for the first time.
Efficient Deprotection of Phenol Methoxymethyl Ethers Using a Solid Acid Catalyst with Wells-Dawson Structure
G. Romanelli,J. C. Autino,G. Baronetti,H. Thomas
Molecules , 2001, DOI: 10.3390/61201006
Abstract: Deprotection of various phenols from their respective methoxymethyl ethers using an heteropolyacid catalyst was studied. The catalyst was the Wells-Dawson heteropolyacid, used both in bulk or supported on silica. Yields were high to quantitative after less than one hour reaction time and the catalyst was easily recoverable and reusable.
Malaria Prophylaxis: A Comprehensive Review
Francesco Castelli,Silvia Odolini,Beatrice Autino,Emanuele Foca,Rosario Russo
Pharmaceuticals , 2010, DOI: 10.3390/ph3103212
Abstract: The flow of international travellers to and from malaria-endemic areas, especially Africa, has increased in recent years. Apart from the very high morbidity and mortality burden imposed on malaria-endemic areas, imported malaria is the main cause of fever possibly causing severe disease and death in travellers coming from tropical and subtropical areas, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa. The importance of behavioural preventive measures (bed nets, repellents, etc.), adequate chemoprophylaxis and, in selected circumstances, stand-by emergency treatment may not be overemphasized. However, no prophylactic regimen may offer complete protection. Expert advice is needed to tailor prophylactic advice according to traveller (age, baseline clinical conditions, etc.) and travel (destination, season, etc.) characteristics in order to reduce malaria risk.
El objeto de la angustia: Husserl, Heidegger, Lacan. Una aproximación desde la fenomenología y el psicoanálisis

Anuario de investigaciones , 2010,
Abstract: the aim of this paper is to elucidate the character of anguish as an objectifying act. anguish considered as a mode of affection referred to an object is a subject of traditional research in psychoanalysis and phenomenology. we intend to demonstrate three hypotheses: a) reading the fifth of husserl's logical investigations (1900-1) reveals that all non-objectifying intentional acts need an objectifying act from which to obtain its reference object; b) anguish as an objectless affection is the result of a common construal of heidegger's statements in what is metaphysic? (1949), while a more careful reading reveals an unnoticed aspect regarding the problem of the object of anguish; c) the husserlian necessity of an object in non-objectifying acts, to which anguish belongs, corresponds with the need of an object highlighted by lacan in the seminar x (1962-3) with regard to the object a.

Cuadernos de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Universidad Nacional de Jujuy , 2008,
Abstract: this work presents the obtained product of the concretion of one of the activities planned in the frame of the project of investigation " evaluation for the comprehension in the mathematical area, in the faculty of economic sciences of the national university of jujuy ", approved and financed by the mentioned institution. in this, the evaluation is conceived " as a constant process of cross-check of learnings that allows to do rectifications in the way of teaching and learning " (santos guerra, 2005). nevertheless, in the practice, the above mentioned theoretical position constitutes a real challenge to achieve in the students significant learnings. this problem in the context of public universities of state management is deepened in the first two years of study. a possible cause of this difficulty is the great amount of pupils that attend classes and to the scarce endowment of teachers assigned to lead the educational process. then: what alternatives arise in this ambience? it turns out to be essential to encourage pedagogic methods faced to achieving that the student could autorregular his own evaluation. to resort to computer hardware to promote activities that serve for monitoring and to stimulate learning, that generate instances for the analysis of wise moves and errors and that allow a continues feedback of its advances, turns out to be a valid option inside the frames of real accessibility that the big majority of the pupils have today. it is believed that, the implementation of this form of evaluation in the subjects algebra and analytical geometry and mathematical analysis of the faculty of economic sciences of the national university of jujuy, will contribute to the improvement of the educational practices.

PATHOGENESIS OF MALARIA IN TISSUES AND BLOOD
Beatrice Autino,Yolanda CORBETT,Francesco Castelli,Donatella TARAMELLI
Mediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases , 2012, DOI: 10.4084/mjhid.2012.
Abstract: The clinical manifestations of severe malaria are several and occur in different anatomical sites. Both parasite- and host-related factors contribute to the pathogenicity of the severe forms of the disease. Cytoadherence of infected red blood cells to the vascular endothelium of different organs and rosetting are unique features of malaria parasites which are likely to contribute to the vascular damage and the consequent excessive inflammatory/immune response of the host. In addition to cerebral malaria or severe anaemia, which are quite common manifestation of severe malaria, clinical evidences of thrombocytopenia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), liver and kidney disease, are reported. In primigravidae from endemic areas, life threatening placental malaria may also be present. In the following pages, some of the pathogenetic aspects will be briefly reviewed and then data on selected and less frequent manifestation of severe malaria, such as liver or renal failure or ARDS will be discussed
EPIDEMIOLOGY OF MALARIA IN ENDEMIC AREAS
Beatrice Autino,Alice Noris,Rosario Russo,Francesco Castelli
Mediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases , 2012, DOI: 10.4084/mjhid.2012.
Abstract: Malaria infection is still to be considered a major public health problem in those 106 countries where the risk of contracting the infection with one or more of the Plasmodium species exists. According to estimates from the World Health Organization, over 200 million cases and about 655.000 deaths have occurred in 2010. Estimating the real health and social burden of the disease is a difficult task, because many of the malaria endemic countries have limited diagnostic resources, especially in rural settings where conditions with similar clinical picture may coexist in the same geographical areas. Moreover, asymptomatic parasitaemia may occur in high transmission areas after childhood, when anti-malaria semi-immunity occurs. Malaria endemicity and control activities are very complex issues, that are influenced by factors related to the host, to the parasite, to the vector, to the environment and to the health system capacity to fully implement available anti-malaria weapons such as rapid diagnostic tests, artemisinin-based combination treatment, impregnated bed-nets and insecticide residual spraying while waiting for an effective vaccine to be made available.

The presence of the ectoparasites fleas of bats are cited for the first time for Jujuy. Is recorded Sternopsylla distincta speciosa Johnson on Tadarida brasiliensis (Geoffroy) (Chiroptera: Vespertilionidae).
