Hematopoietic stem cells in research and clinical applications: The “CD34 issue”
Zoran Ivanovic
World Journal of Stem Cells , 2010,
Abstract: In this paper, experimental findings concerning the kinetics of hematopoietic reconstitution are compared to corresponding clinical data. Although not clearly apparent, the transplantation practice seems to confirm the basic proposals of experimental hematology concerning hematopoietic reconstitution resulting from successive waves of repopulation stemming from different subpopulations of progenitor and stem cells. One of the “first rate” parameters in clinical transplantations in hematology; i.e. the CD34+ positive cell dose, has been discussed with respect to the functional heterogeneity and variability of cell populations endowed by expression of CD34. This parameter is useful only if the relative proportion of stem and progenitor cells in the CD34+ cell population is more or less maintained in a series of patients or donors. This proportion could vary with respect to the source, pathology, treatment, processing procedure, the graft ex vivo treatment and so on. Therefore, a universal dose of CD34+ cells cannot be defined. In addition, to avoid further confusion, the CD34+ cells should not be named “stem cells” or “progenitor cells” since these denominations only concern functionally characterized cell entities.
Ivanovic-Zuvic,Fernando;
Revista chilena de neuro-psiquiatría , 2004, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-92272004000300002
Abstract: it has been suggested that occidental medicine has its origins in ancient greek medicine. during this period a mythical paradigm to medicine was replaced by a medical practice based on the epistemological principles of pre socratic philosophers and later by the works of hippocrates. the corpus hipocraticum contains the majority of the medical specialties as we know them today and represents a new perspective of the relationship of man and nature. nature represents the basis for understanding human reasoning. starting from their myths, the greeks developed a practical body of knowledge about man in health and in sickness, based on their observations of nature. medical practice was considered not only a technical profession, but also an art, based on wisdom. mental diseases were also part of the effect of nature on mankind and should be treated just as other diseases of the body

Abstract: karl jaspers' general psychopathology, written at the age of 30, was his most significant psychiatric work. the author later devoted himself to philosophy. jaspers studied and deepened understanding of concepts such as process and development, delusions and psychic reactions, and established a rigorous and methodological distinction between somatic and psychic phenomena (causal explication and psychological understanding). psychotherapy is a moment when doctors and patients find their existential realities.

It has been suggested that occidental medicine has its origins in ancient Greek medicine. El legado de Karl Jaspers The Karl Jaspers Legacy
Fernando Ivanovic-Zuvic
Karl Jaspers' General Psychopathology, written at the age of 30, was his most significant psychiatric work.
C^{1/2}P^{1/2}T^{1/2} Symmetry of the Chaotic Inflation Dynamics
Vladan Pankovic,Jovan Ivanovic
Physics , 2007,
Abstract: In this work is shown that standard dynamical equations of the chaotic inflation for a massive real scalar field hold an especial local gauge symmetry. Given symmetry admits that inflation field mass can be considered as an especial "charge". Also, it is shown that given equations except expected $CPT$ symmetry, hold surprisingly, $C^{{1/2}}P^{{1/2}}T^{{1/2}}$ symmetry too.
A Note on the Set of After-measurement States in Generalized Quantum Measurement
I. D. Ivanovic
Physics , 2010,
Abstract: The sets of after-measurement states for standard and generalized quantum measurements are compared. It is shown that for a SIC-POVM generalized measurement, the ratio of the volume of the set of after-measurement states and the volume of the simplex generated by individual outcomes quickly tends to zero with increase of the number of dimensions. The volumes used are based on the Hilbert-Schmidt norm. Some consequences on actual realizations, having finite collections of systems are discussed.
A Simple Set of Separable States in a Commutative Simplex
I. D. Ivanovic
Physics , 2003,
Abstract: In this note a very crude but simple approximation to the set of separable states in an arbitrary simplex of commutative states is given using the fact that on the lines connecting the maximally mixed state and an arbitrary pure state the positivity of the partial transpose is both necessary and sufficient condition for separability of states. The lower limit to the volume of separable states in a simplex is slightly improved.
Compressive sensing based velocity estimation in video data
Ana Miletic,Nemanja Ivanovic
Computer Science , 2015,
Abstract: This paper considers the use of compressive sensing based algorithms for velocity estimation of moving vehicles. The procedure is based on sparse reconstruction algorithms combined with time-frequency analysis applied to video data. This algorithm provides an accurate estimation of object's velocity even in the case of a very reduced number of available video frames. The influence of crucial parameters is analysed for different types of moving vehicles.
