Skin 3D Bioprinting. Applications in Cosmetology  [PDF]
Cristina Velasquillo, Eduardo A. Galue, Lourdes Rodriquez, Clemente Ibarra, L. Guillermo Ibarra-Ibarra
Journal of Cosmetics, Dermatological Sciences and Applications (JCDSA) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jcdsa.2013.31A012
Abstract: Tissue engineering has been used for the treatment of several skin diseases and lesions; however, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine also have a huge potential in cosmetology. They include skin substitutes, cell therapy and wound-healing treatments based on biomaterial-based replacements and 3D systems. This review focuses on the bioprinting technology and how it can improve skin functions, restoring pigmentation or helping hair follicles to develop.

Prevención/minimización de la injuria secundaria en el TCE
Ibarra,Pedro;
Revista Colombiana de Anestesiología , 2005,
Abstract: secondary injury is the most important preventable determinant of poor outcome in patients with severe traumatic brain injury (tbi). it is essential to understand that the adequate management of the insults responsible for it, can produce a dramatic improvement in outcome. the mechanisms responsible for secondary injury which lead to penumbral tissue to develop further ischemia and death, are described. it is of foremost importance to educate all personnel involved in caring for these patients to understand that the execution of simple medical interventions can save thousand of lives without incurring in unbearable costs. it is the responsibility of everyone involved to ensure the maximum diffusion of these concepts.
?Cuáles exámenes de laboratorio preanestésicos se necesitan en pacientes asintomáticos?
Ibarra,Pedro;
Revista Colombiana de Anestesiología , 2007,
Abstract: the present article presents a detailed analysis with regards to the indication, the need, electivity and costs of the diverse laboratory exams requested by the various surgical groups. these exams are requested during preoperative evaluations of the patients, depending on the type of surgery to be practiced, his/her clinical condition, related diseases, age, risk, length and bleeding estimated during emergency situations, with the perspective of improving the perioperatory evolution. based on the class and type of evidence published in the literature, indication, pertinence and benefits of the various laboratory exams are described. also, asa recommendations as well as the experience obtained from the register and the systemized observation from thousands of patients at the ?clinica reina sofia? are describe too. at the end, some algorithms for low risk and intermediate risk factors as well as cardiac patients are presented.
Informática para el anestesiólogo
Ibarra,Pedro;
Revista Colombiana de Anestesiología , 2008,
Abstract: medical informatics are defined as the management of information to improve medical processes. anesthesia is one of the medical areas where the better management of information can have a positive impact. four informatics areas are discussed in this paper: the use of computers in anesthesia, communications in the perioperative environment, the use of pda?s in anesthesia and the usefulness of internet in anesthesia.
La reconfiguración economica internacional
Ibarra, David;
Revista de Economia Política , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31572005000400006
Abstract: the international economic reconfiguration. the developed and developing countries have adjusted with varying degrees of success to the new international order. the world's evolution has not stopped: europe and the emerging asian economies, are struggling to create a multipolar world. in the periphery, some countries (asia) are modernizing at a fast rate, while others (latin america) are lagging behind and in need to revise their growth strategies. the decentralization of production and trade driven by transnational firms are shifting the geographic distribution of investment and employment. as a result, the industrialized countries have ceased to provide the bulk of the world's savings, changing somehow the foundations of the international financial system.
O neoliberalismo na America Latina
Ibarra, David;
Revista de Economia Política , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31572011000200004
Abstract: neoliberalism in latin america. neoliberalism and globalization had decisive influence in shaping public policies both internal and foreign in latin america. less state, trade and market freedoms, social goals subordinated to economic criteria, are part and parcel of the neoliberal utopia. price stability was erected as the main social objective; import substitution resulted replaced by exports as the main source of growth. the neoliberal net results as applied to latin america are: less growth, deindustrialization, income concentration and precarious employments. therefore, countries public policies should try to gain autonomy to use jointly markets and public intervention in a constructive and innovative fashion.
LA COMPLEMENTARIEDAD CULTURAL EN EL SURGIMIENTO DE LOS GRUPOS ZAMBOS DEL CABO GRACIAS A DIOS, EN LA MOSQUITIA, DURANTE LOS SIGLOS XVII Y XVIII
Ibarra,Eugenia;
Revista de Estudios Sociales , 2007,
Abstract: historical sources that recount the encounters between enslaved africans and amerindians suggest that there are occasions when the traditional concepts of acculturation and transculturation are inadequate to explain the processes that develop when peoples from two different cultures come into contact. similarly, the concepts of cultural recreation and cultural transmission require certain conditions that are not always the same in cases of cultural contact. the goal of this article is to refl ect on the issue of cultural contact and to propose that the concept of cultural complementarity be used as way to explain certain cases, such as that between africans and amerindians on cape “gracias a dios” on the mosquito coast in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. this situation contrasts sharply with the processes of cultural recreation and transmission that occurred in jamaica during this same period and in the context of the english-spanish confl ict on the mosquito coast and in jamaica. the article seeks to contribute to the international debate on the rise of sambo groups, suggesting other ways to explain the initial development of cultural “contacts.”
Indirect Signatures of Gravitino Dark Matter
Ibarra, Alejandro
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2008, DOI: 10.1063/1.3051892
Abstract: Supersymmetric models provide very interesting scenarios to account for the dark matter of the Universe. In this talk we discuss scenarios with gravitino dark matter in R-parity breaking vacua, which not only reproduce very naturally the observed dark matter relic density, but also lead to a thermal history of the Universe consistent with the observed abundances of primordial elements and the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry. In this class of scenarios the dark matter gravitinos are no longer stable, but decay with very long lifetimes into Standard Model particles, thus opening the possibility of their indirect detection. We have computed the expected contribution from gravitino decay to the primary cosmic rays and we have found that a gravitino with a mass of 150 GeV and a lifetime of 10^26 s could simultaneously explain the EGRET anomaly in the extragalactic gamma-ray background and the HEAT excess in the positron fraction.
Gravitino Dark Matter with Broken R-parity
Ibarra, Alejandro
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2007,
Abstract: Scenarios with gravitino dark matter face potential cosmological problems induced by the presence of the Next-to-Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (NLSP) at the time of Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN). A very simple, albeit radical, solution to avoid all these problems consists on assuming that R-parity is slightly violated, since in this case the NLSP decays well before the onset of BBN. Remarkably, even if the gravitino is no longer stable in this scenario, it still constitutes a very promising dark matter candidate. In this talk we review the motivations for this scenario and we present a model that naturally generates R-parity breaking parameters of the right size to produce a consistent thermal history of the Universe, while satisfying at the same time all the laboratory and cosmological bounds on R-parity breaking. We also discuss possible signatures of this scenario at gamma ray observatories and at colliders.
