Ilyas Haouam
Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1104108
Abstract:
By the large and small wave-function components approach we achieved the nonrelativistic limit of the Dirac equation in interaction with an electromagnetic potential in noncommutative phase-space, and we tested the effect of the phase-space noncommutativity on it, knowing that the nonrelativistic limit of the Dirac equation gives the Schrodinger-Pauli equation.

Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2018.911127
Abstract: A method of Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation for relativistic spin-1/2 particles in external fields is proposed; in the present work the basic properties of the Dirac hamiltonian in the FW representation in the noncommutative phase-space are investigated and the Schrödinger-Pauli equation is found, knowing that the used methods for extracting the full phase-space noncommutative Dirac equation are, the Bopp-shift linear translation method, and the Moyal-Weyl product (*-product).
Necessary conditions for local and global existence to a reaction-diffusion system with fractional derivatives

International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences , 2006, DOI: 10.1155/ijmms/2006/85203
Abstract: We give some necessary conditions for local and global existence of a solution to reaction-diffusion system of type (FDS) with temporal and spacial fractional derivatives. As in the case of single equation of type (STFE) studied by M. Kirane et al. (2005), we prove that these conditions depend on the behavior of initial conditions for large |x|.

Modern Research in Catalysis (MRC) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/mrc.2012.12004
Abstract: Catalytic oxidation/degradation of phenol with molecular oxygen in aqueous medium by Zirconia, zirconia supported metals and metal oxides at low temperature were studied in a three necked batch reactor. The catalysts prepared were characterized by modern techniques like XRD, SEM and EDX. The activities of different catalysts for the oxidation of phenol in aqueous medium were found to be in the order; Pt-Pd/ZrO2 > Bi-Pt/ZrO2 > Bi-Pd/ZrO2> Pt/ZrO2 > Pd/ZrO2 > Cu/ZrO2> Mn/ZrO2 > Bi/ZrO2. The enhanced catalytic activity of Bi-Pt/ZrO2 is attributed to Bi which in contact with Pt particles promotes its catalytic activity. In short, catalytic oxidation was found to be an effective tool, for the removal of phenol, from industrial waste water.

Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2012.26063
Abstract: We introduce a new family of classes of operators termed as *p-paranormal operator, classes *A(p,p); p > 0 and *A(p,q); p, q > 0, parallel to p-paranormal operator and classes A(p,p); p> 0 and A(p,q); p, q > 0 introduced by M. Fujii, D. Jung, S. H. Lee, M. Y. Lee and R. Nakamoto [1]. We present a necessary and sufficient condition for p-hyponormal operator T∈B(H)to be *p-paranormal and the monotonicity of *A(p,q). We also present an alternative proof of a result of M. Fujii, et al. [1, Theorem 3.4].
A Review of Transport and Urban Air Pollution in Pakistan
SZ Ilyas
Journal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management , 2007,
Abstract: Nowadays air over major cities throughout the world has become over burdened with gases produced by automobiles. The death rate due to automobiles pollution is increasing rapidly in the metropolitan areas. With passage of time people realized that polluted air had serious effects on their health, climate and economics. Weather and climate have the integrated impact on human activities which are resulting in worldwide concentration of the particulate of environmental pollution viz. chloroflorocarbons (CFCs), carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxide, lead and several other dust and gaseous particles. The rapid growth in motor vehicle activity in Pakistan and other rapidly industrializing low-income countries is contributing to high levels of urban air pollution, among other adverse socioeconomic, environmental, health, and welfare impacts. This paper first discusses the local, regional, and global impacts associated with air pollutant emissions resulting from motor vehicle activity, and the technological, behavioral, and institutional factors that have contributed to these emissions, in Pakistan. The paper then discusses some implementation issues related to various policy measures that have been undertaken, and the challenges of the policy context. Finally, the paper presents insights and lessons based on the recent Pakistan experience, for better understanding and more effectively addressing the transport air pollution problem in Pakistan and similar countries, in a way that is sensitive to their needs, capabilities, and constraints.
Matriconditioning Improves Thermotolerance in Pepper Seeds through Increased in 1-Aminocyclopropane-1-Carboxylic Acid Synthesis and Utilization

HAYATI Journal of Biosciences , 2006,
Abstract: Matriconditioning using a solid carrier, Micro-Cel E, was applied on pepper seeds and its effects on the improvement of thermotolerance through the ethylene biosynthesis were studied. Untreated and matriconditioned seeds were soaked in 5 mM 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) for various time at 25 oC to studies the time course of ACC-derived ethylene production. To study the performance of the seeds at high temperature, they were planted at temperature regime of 35 oC, 12h light/27 oC, 12h dark. The ACC-oxidase activity of the seeds after incubated in ACC at 35 oC was also determined. The ACC contents in untreated and matriconditioned seeds during the 24h imbibition period at 35 oC were monitored. No ethylene was detected during soaking of pepper seeds in the absence of ACC. In 5 mM ACC detectable levels of ethylene were produced; the matriconditioned seeds producing 10-fold larger amounts than the untreated seeds at the time of germination. It is postulated that matriconditioning greatly increases the ACC-oxidase activity at the time of germination. Matriconditioned seeds imbibed at 35 oC produced larger amounts of ACC and greater ACC-oxidase activity than the untreated seeds. Thus, the basis for the thermotolerance by matriconditioned seeds may be increasing ability to synthesize ACC and to utilize it for ethylene production and stress alleviation.
A Study of Web Accessibility Barriers for Older Adults, and Heuristics Evaluation of Email Websites Based on Web Accessibility Heuristics for Older Adults by AARP

Journal of Emerging Trends in Computing and Information Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: As people live longer and adults are increasingly using the web, it has become an increasingly important social factor to make website accessible for the older adults as many of their works are done through internet including to be in touch with their children, grand children, friends and colleagues, for online shopping of groceries and other important items, for acquiring knowledge of their health issues and so on.United Nations has estimated that 20 % of the overall world population will be above 60 years of age by 2050[1]. The report, An Ageing World: 2008 anticipates that within the upcoming 30 years older adults population is projected to become double 506 million in 2008 to 1.3 billion, which will be the increment from 7 % to 14% of the aged population. [12]This rapidly increasing population of older adults over the web is not taken into consideration by web developers while designing websites that is they don’t make accessible websites for older adults. There are significant web accessibility barriers for people with disabilities including older adults who face many accessibility problems while accessing websites including vision impairments, hearing impairments, psychological hindrances, motor impairments, mental model inaccuracy, decline in learn-ability and memorability. Due to these barriers older adults find significant problems in accessing the web. For example the use of mouse, double clicking, using scrollbars and absence of a proper website navigation for older adults, the use of font family and sizes which are not legible for older adults having vision impairments or weak eye sight, for blind older adults the top to bottom logical order of tables or improper use of heading tags may create accessibility barriers. This paper discusses these accessibility barriers faced by older adults in accessing websites. Furthermore it presents an expert analysis of Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo mail accessibility problems based on WAI AGE guidelines (Web Accessibility Guidelines for older adults by W3C) and heuristics evaluation based on AARP heuristics

Biodiversitas , 2007,
Abstract: A study on viability test of several LIPI-MC mould isolates in ampoule of L-drying preservation after one year storage at 5o C had been conducted. In this study, cell survival level of 34 ampoules number from eight mould generas and 17 species had been counted. The objective of this study was to observe the survival or viability level of several mould isolates in ampoule L-drying preservation after one year storage at 5o C. The measurement of viability level was based on the average of colony forming unit density (CFU/ml). The result showed that there were seven mould isolates have hingh viabilitiy, 18 isolates have medium viabilitiy, two isolates have low viability, and five isolates have lost its viability.
