He Liu, Lili Fan
Open Journal of Business and Management (OJBM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ojbm.2013.13008
Abstract: As new products are generally difficult to be accepted by consumers, and the cost of initial market introduction is high, enterprises often choose to do market extension of an existing brand. Simultaneously, a successful brand extension can enhance the reputation of the original brand, and expand the brand value. But how can enterprise take a good brand extension? Through establishment of a dynamic model of brand extension under the brand relationship context, investigating the interaction mechanism between brand relationship and extension, and base on that, we developed a strategy model of interaction and improvement of brand relationship and brand extension.
Performance Analysis of Multiband Impulse Radio UWB Communication System Based on PSWF  [PDF]
Lili Chen, Zheng Dou
Communications and Network (CN) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/cn.2013.53B2031
Abstract: To improve the data transmission rate and use spectrum flexibly, a new spectrum allocation method for Multiband Impulse Radio UWB (MB-IR-UWB) is proposed in this paper based on the band-limited and orthogonal characteristics of Prolate Spheroidal Wave Function (PSWF). The system model is built and the bit error rate (BER) formula is deprived by binary time hopping pulse position modulation under additive white Gaussian noise. Moreover, the system performance is analyzed via MATLB simulation. The results indicate that MB-IR-UWB system performance of BER is the same with single-band UWB. However, in the proposed scheme the data can be transmitted in multiple parallel bands, which enjoys much higher transmission rate. In addition, PSWF pulse duration affects the BER performance.

Abstract: In the background of cut-throat competition in the FMCG industry, work behaviors of the salesman at the forefront of the business play an important role to achieve the marketing objectives. Based on the sales behaviors and related scale development theory, and following the logic of analyzing FMCG sales order work stages first, and then the sales order work contents of each stage, and the work behavior characteristics of sales order of each stage at last, the work behavior of FMCG salesman is discussed in this paper.
The Performance of Knowledge Workers Based on Behavioral Perspective  [PDF]
Jun Yao, Lili Fan
Journal of Human Resource and Sustainability Studies (JHRSS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jhrss.2015.31003
Abstract: After entering the knowledge economy era, competition and development of enterprises rely more on the use and transfer of knowledge and information. As the carrier of knowledge, knowledge workers are becoming more and more important. In this paper, based on the perspective of behavior performance, the author has analyzed the performance of knowledge workers, and put forward that the knowledgeable staff’s performance should contain three components, namely, task performance, organizational citizenship behavior and counterproductive work behavior.

Lili Song, Yadong Shang
Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2015.53014
Abstract: In the paper, we will discuss the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili Equation which is used to model shallow-water waves with weakly non-linear restoring forces and is also used to model waves in ferromagnetic media by employing the method of variable separation. Abundant exact solutions including global smooth solutions and local blow up solutions are obtained. These solutions would contribute to studying the behavior and blow up properties of the solution of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili Equation.
The Greatness of Gatsby in The Great Gatsby  [PDF]
Qin Li, Lili Zheng
Advances in Literary Study (ALS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/als.2015.32009
Abstract: The Great Gatsby is the masterpiece of Fitzgerald, the representative of “Jazz Age”. This paper studies the greatness of Gatsby from three aspects: Gatsby’s struggle against fate focusing on his love and career, Gatsby’s spirit of self-discipline and his spirit of self-sacrifice compared with Jesus Christ and other people. In a word, Gatsby is as great as the writer Fitzgerald thinks of.
Britain and the Continent — From Isolation to Integration
Cross-Cultural Communication , 2012, DOI: 10.3968/2693
Abstract: Britain, with its insularity in location and once being the world’s greatest empire, carried the isolation policy for most of history, separating itself from the continental Europe in foreign affairs. For a long time, it has secured prosperity and prestige with special relationship with America and the good terms with members of the Commonwealth. However, wars, constant emergence of new economic rivals, member countries’ withdrawals from the Commonwealth, the unreliable ally, and the weakening national power have all obliged Britain to find a new partner to lean upon. Britain began to strengthen its ties with the continental Europe by joining the European Economic Community (EEC). But the path to EEC was not smooth although Britain finally accomplished its goal. Key words: Europe; Isolation policy; Special relationship; The commonwealth
Study on Indian Private Enterprise Internationalization and Its Implication for Chinese “Going Global” Strategy
Lili Dong
Economic Management Journal , 2013,
Abstract: OFD (Outward Foreign Direct) investment from developing economies has achieved significant development recently. As the two largest developing countries, both India and China take various measures to encourage local companies to internationalize. Statistics show that multinationals from the two countries are quite different from each other in the ownership, core competency, and entry mode choice. Generally speaking, Indian private enterprises are doing much better than their Chinese counterparts with the advantage on the micro competition; in addition, India government has achieved more in encouraging domestic private companies to invest internationally, from which Chinese companies can benefit. In contrast to China where the state owned enterprises play the leading role in internationalization, while the private companies are weak in most sectors. This fact is kind of surprising because the private companies are usually more efficient than the state owned sector in Chinese domestic economy. This paper will start with the comparison between Indian and Chinese enterprises’ internationalization, then explore the underlying causes for the difference. Based on the above analysis, suggestions for the Chinese private companies “going global” will be formulated.
Understanding Humor Based on the Incongruity Theory and the Cooperative Principle
Studies in Literature and Language , 2012, DOI: 10.3968/j.sll.1923156320120402.3521
Abstract: Humor plays a crucial role in social interactions; sometimes it is even named as social coping mechanism. People have been working on humor since Plato and Aristotle times and different theories have thus come into being, among which the incongruity theory is considered most influential. This article combines the incongruity theory and a pragmatic principle — the Cooperative Principle (CP) set by H. P. Grice, to explain how humor is generated and perceived in certain context. The analysis shows that people produce humor not just for humor’s sake. Mostly, they want to express an additional message or implicature in Grice’s term. Following Grice’s particularized conversational implicatures generated when conversational maxims of the CP are flouted by participants to convey extra information, the paper terms humor out of exploiting maxims as particularized conversational humor. Detailed analyses of examples of humor have been conducted to elucidate how humor is generated through flouting conversational maxims of the CP and what implicature is put across. Key words: Humor; Cooperative Principle; Incongruity theory
Probe into Language Transfer in Foreign Language Learning
Lili Meng
Theory and Practice in Language Studies , 2011, DOI: 10.4304/tpls.1.11.1603-1606
Abstract: Language transfer has been a hot topic in second language acquisition for many years. Generally speaking, there are two types of transfer, positive transfer and negative transfer. Positive transfer results in correct performance while negative transfer results in errors. At first, this paper presents the concept of transfer, and then it analyzes the factors, which affect the language transfer, including kinship, learning environment, teaching method, linguistic knowledge and experience, and learners' cognitive ability. At last, the author puts forward three suggestions for foreign language teaching in order to improve learners' language learning efficiency.
