Tragic Aftermath of Californian Jungle Fire and Hawaiian Volcano Outburst, a Warning about Persistently Rising Global Warming, Resulting into High Rated Disaster’s Chain  [PDF]

Abstract:
Earthglobe is almost at flash point with respect to global heat contents and temperature and any sizeable further addition of heat to its environment will result into huge disaster of life, property and infrastructure at multiple locations on the globe. The recent example of this is the aftermath of Cali-fornian forest fires (2017-2018) and Hawaii volcano eruption as elaborated in this treatise. This has resulted into 7 main catastrophic events over the Earth globe in its first round, while in 2nd round, all the previous same 7 or similar event in the same or an area close to it are repeated with one more event added in the list. These wildfires add large quantity of heat directly to the globe and even more through abstraction of out going global heat radiation by their generated green house gasses, pollution and soot. The 2nd round is perhaps also supported by Hawaii volcanic eruption. The 3rd round has mainly completed and few expected events are yet in pipe line, but California jungle fire of November 2018 has strengthened its attacks again. The mechanics and tracks of its attacks with pulled in of its allies has been elaborated in this work with role of this wildfire and its all children; heat, soot, pollution and green house gasses in possible boast of global heat contents and temperature. It is observed that disastrous aftermath from all such heating events in the north are contained mainly in Northern Hemisphere, while contrary to this; some of such events in the south have hard strikes on the North. It is requested that Global heat contents rise, jungle fire and volcanic eruptions must be completely stopped by all means because this causes widespread disaster mainly over the tropical regions of Globe as experienced from Californian Jungle Fire.
Contribution of Some Maize Production Factors Towards Grain Yield and Economic Return under the Agro-climatic Conditions of Dera Ismail Khan

Abstract: Contribution of different factors responsible for the increase of Maize production viz: weeds control, insect/pest control and fertilizer were determined in Kharif, 1996 and 1 997 under the agro-climatic conditions of Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. The investigations measured the average maximum yield gap between the improved practices and that of farmer`s practices as 2443 kg/ha, showing an increase of 193.88 % over that of farmer`s practices. The highest share contributed by improved fertilizer dose, was 38.48 %; followed by insect/pest control, that was 26 %. The lowest share was contributed by weeds control, 22 %. The highest net return and Value Cost Ratio (VCR) of Rs. 3974.65 and (1:2.2) respectively, were found for fertilizer. The minimum net return of Rs. 1 576.20 with VCR (1:1.47) was obtained for insect/pest control.
A Fresnelet-Based Encryption of Medical Images using Arnold Transform

Abstract: Medical images are commonly stored in digital media and transmitted via Internet for certain uses. If a medical information image alters, this can lead to a wrong diagnosis which may create a serious health problem. Moreover, medical images in digital form can easily be modified by wiping off or adding small pieces of information intentionally for certain illegal purposes. Hence, the reliability of medical images is an important criterion in a hospital information system. In this paper, the Fresnelet transform is employed along with appropriate handling of the Arnold transform and the discrete cosine transform to provide secure distribution of medical images. This method presents a new data hiding system in which steganography and cryptography are used to prevent unauthorized data access. The experimental results exhibit high imperceptibility for embedded images and significant encryption of information images.

Abstract:

This work proposes a scheme which helps digitizing hand printed and electronic planar objects or vectorizing the generic shapes. An evolutionary optimization technique namely Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to solve the problem of curve fitting with a cubic spline function. GA works well for finding the optimal values of shape parameters in the description of the proposed cubic spline. The underlying scheme comprises of various phases including data of the image outlines, detection of corner points, using GA for optimal values of shape parameters, and fitting curve using cubic spline to the detected corner points.

Abstract: This paper contributes towards modeling for the designing of objects in the areas of Computer Graphics (CG), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE). It provides a modeling technique for the designing of objects. The model is based on a conic-like curve (rational quadratics) method and provides an extra degree of freedom to the user to fine tune the shape of the design to the satisfactory level. The 2D curve model has then been extended for the designing of 3D objects to produce fancy objects. The scheme has been also extended to automate the degree of freedom when a reverse engineering is required for images of the objects. A heuristic technique of genetic algorithm is applied to find optimal values of shape parameters in the description of conics.
Pirsabak Barani-04: A New Candidate Wheat Variety for Cultivation in the Province of NWFP

Abstract: The wheat variety, Pirsabak Barani-04, was first tested at CCRI Pirsabak in 2001-02 in HRWYT trial. The strains which were high yielding and resistant to diseases were again tested in B-VI trial at CCRI Pirsabak and at ARI Tarnab in 2002-03.These strains were further screened and those selected were further tested under microplot trials at different locations i.e. CCRI Pirsabak, ARS, Serai Naurang (Bannu) and at ARS, Buffa (Mansehra), in the North West Frontier Province during 2003-04. The results of HRWYT, B-VI at CCRI and ARI Tarnab and Microplots at CCRI, Serai Naurang and Mansehra during 2001-02 to 2003-04 confirmed its superiority in higher yield and diseases resistance. Because of its higher yield and resistance to yellow and leaf rust, this variety has shown overall better performance and has been termed as candidate variety. Its seed has been multiplied and sent to the NUWYT, CDRI and FSC&RD. The line/cross MUNIA/CHTO/ / AMSEL has been named as Pirsabak Barani-04 and is recommended for sowing from 1st to 15th December in NWFP under irrigated as well as rainfed conditions.
Exogenous application of ascorbic acid stimulates growth and photosynthesis of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) under drought

Abstract: Drought causes considerable reduction in plant growth. A hydroponic experiment was conducted to appraise the potential role of exogenously applied ascorbic acid in alleviating the effect of drought on wheat. Two contrasting wheat genotypes, a drought tolerant cultivar Chakwal-86 and a drought sensitive strain 6544-6 were used in the study. Drought was induced by dissolving 20% Polyethylene glycol (PEG8000) in the nutrient solution producing -0.6MPa osmotic stress. Drought caused a significant decrease in chlorophyll pigments and net photosynthesis resulting in growth reduction of both wheat genotypes. However, this decrease was more severe in the genotype 6544-6 compared to Chakwal-86. Ascorbic acid (AsA) was applied through rooting medium, as a foliar spray and seed soaking treatment. Ascorbic acid treated seedlings of both genotypes maintained higher chlorophyll contents, net photosynthesis and growth compared to the non-treated plants. Of the three different modes of ascorbic acid application, rooting medium was more effective in alleviating the adversities of drought in wheat. `
