Abstract: Puposes of this study were to explain the influence of learning orientation on technical innovation and administrative innovation olso to analysis influence of technical innovation and administrative innovation on competitive advantage. To test the empirical models, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used. Sample size of this research were 200 owners and/or managers of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) running food and beverage sector in the residency Banyumas areas.The results showed that learning orientation has a positive effect on technical innovation and administrative innovation, technical innovation has a positive effect on competitive advantage, but administrative innovation has no positive effect on competitive advantage.
The Role of Market Orientation and Learning Orientation in Improving Innovativeness and Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises

Abstract: The purpose of study is to describe contradiction relationship between market orientation toward organizational performance and to provide a quantitative analysis, in which learning orientation, market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, and innovativeness function as the key success factors in technology-intensive firms. The authors formulate a structural equation model to examine the relationship among these constructs. A structural equation model was designed to examine the relationship. To test the model, the authors conducted covariance structural analyses of data collected from 150 small medium enterprises in Banyumas Regency. The central finding is that learning orientation plays a mediating role in the relationship between market orientation and innovativeness. The results indicate that innovativeness has effect on business performance. Market orientation can strengthen learning orientation and innovativeness. In the small medium enterprises, the market information obtained from customers and competitors helps firms to keep an eye on the market. For better competitive advantages and business performance, firms must have learning capabilities and employees’ identity with organizational mission. The findings indicate that firms should strengthen their learning orientation and innovativeness to improve business performance.
Potential and Problems of Small Medium Enterprise (SMEs) Coconut-Sugar: Case Study in Banyumas Regency, Central Java Indonesia

Abstract: Coconut sugar or palm sugar is superior product in Banyumas regency, which supported by widespread of coconut tapping trees covering 5,157 ha and production of coconut sugar reach 57,400 tons per year, but welfare of coconut sugar entrepreneur are still relatively low. Therefore, it needs to be examined about the main problems of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) coconut sugar. This study used an exploratory approach as it aims to explore the potential and problems of SMEs coconut sugar. The study was conducted in any clusters SMEs coconut sugar, in Banyumas Regency. Source data from coconut sugar entrepreneurs and parties which related to the development of coconut sugar industry in Banyumas. The analysis showed that the four major problems in the industrial sector are the production of coconut sugar, human resources, finance, and marketing. Program development should rely on these main problems, so the role of coconut sugar as superior product can improve the welfare of community businesses.
