The mechanical.thermal, morphological and rheological properties of these two blends have been investigated. For the materials blended by the four-screw extruder, a 15 wt-% content of UHMWPE corresponds to a maximum lzod impact strength, and the miscibility enhancement effect of EPDM on PP/UHMWPE blends is very remarkable. Mechanical and thermal properties demonstrate that melt blending by the four-screw extruder is a better prcessing method for PP/UHMWPF blends than that by the twin-screw extruder. A co-continuous structure was observed in blends through TEM, and a novel "linear interpenetrating" toughening mechanism is proposed on the basis of this research work %U http://www.alljournals.cn/get_abstract_url.aspx?pcid=5B3AB970F71A803DEACDC0559115BFCF0A068CD97DD29835&cid=84529CA2B2E519AC&jid=324DC3CAB22330DB19158AE0A9B7BFA5&aid=215DFF20DE2AD1FB&yid=BBCD5003575B2B5F&vid=708DD6B15D2464E8&iid=CA4FD0336C81A37A&sid=D997634CFE9B6321&eid=286FB2D22CF8D013&journal_id=1005-0302&journal_name=材料科学技术学报&referenced_num=0&reference_num=0
